Intensely concentrated laser pulses are directed at the hair follicles, converting their energy into heat. This thermal energy is subsequently taken up by the hair, resulting in the disruption of its chromophores (referred to as melanin or pigment), thereby inhibiting the potential for future hair growth.
For every laser hair removal session, it's necessary to have a close shave of the targeted area. It's advisable to shave the evening before or on the morning of your appointment. Refrain from waxing or tweezing for at least three weeks leading up to your treatment. To qualify for the treatment, it is vital to avoid sun exposure and self-tanning products for several weeks before your session, ensuring that your skin remains untanned. Discontinue the use of retinoids and prescription topicals in the treatment area 5 days prior to your appointment, and discontinue antibiotics 7 days in advance as well. *Please note that this treatment is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals.
During the treatment, you can anticipate a sensation similar to a gentle snap from a rubber band on your skin, and any discomfort should be temporary. You might experience slight redness or minor irritation in the treated area, but this typically resolves within 24 hours. With regular sessions, you'll observe a gradual reduction in hair growth, and the regrowth will become progressively finer and slower with each treatment. To achieve a reduction of 75-95%, it's usually recommended to undergo approximately 9-12 sessions.
Laser hair removal presents a convenient and effective solution for long-lasting hair reduction. By targeting hair follicles with precision, the procedure offers smooth and hair-free skin in treated areas. Its non-invasive nature means minimal discomfort, while the long-term results save time and effort.
Hair generally begins to undergo shedding approximately two weeks post-treatment. Achieving the best outcomes typically necessitates undergoing 6 to 10 sessions, with the specific number influenced by factors such as hair growth, type, color, and the treatment area. For facial regions, it is advisable to schedule appointments approximately four weeks apart, while for the body, a spacing of around six weeks is recommended.
Laser hair removal doesn't offer absolute permanence, yet it significantly reduces the future growth of hair in treated areas. Any regrowth typically appears sparser, finer, and possibly lighter. To maintain the best results, we recommend occasional maintenance sessions, typically scheduled once or twice a year, depending on your hair's unique reaction to the treatment.
Laser hair removal involves no downtime, but you might notice some redness afterward. It's advisable to avoid sun exposure for two weeks before and one week after the treatment.
Please note that it is not optimized for treating white, grey, blonde, or red hair.
